Famous TV Houses & Apartments

We see our fair share of home interiors in this job. However, there are a number of living spaces so famous they’re known across the globe. We become so familiar with them on our TV sets, we feel we could stroll in and make ourselves tea without blinking an eye. Here are some of our favourites:
Monica’s Apartment: Friends
The iconic studio apartment in Downtown New York has a place in all TV watching hearts. From the brightly coloured furniture to the glass balcony, to Joey and Chandler’s unkempt quarters next door. Like many famous sitcoms, Friends’s apartment became a beloved character itself. Just make sure you don’t move the sofa – Monica will know!
Over the course of Friends’ ten seasons, we also enjoyed a number of nods to the removal industry; from flat-swapping, the empty apartment and that infamous ‘pivot’ scene!
Flat 127, Nelson Mandela House: Only Fools & Horses
Back to local shores and we have the hub of Del Boy’s wheeler-dealer schemes. The Trotters’ digs – with its bright yellow wallpaper, in-house bar and boxes of suspicious white goods – always delivered the outrageous. At the sitcom’s 30th Anniversary, Only Fools & Horses Fans were even treated to a tour of the place, available to rent for just £18 per night! He who dares…wins!
4 Privet Drive: Harry Potter
Okay, it isn’t technically television, but Harry Potter’s childhood home is so iconic we thought it deserved a mention. Helmed by his fearsome aunt and uncle Dursley, the house is typical British suburbia. Its occupants Vernon, Petunia and Dudley are terrifying and comic in equal measure. While 4 Privet Drive is of course fictional, the filming location used was a Martins Heron in Bracknell.
